The concept of sovereignty is a key issue in global politics. The reason this is a key issue in global politics is that states should be respecting other states’ sovereignty while they are maintaining their own rules on sovereignty. Sovereignty is a crucial thing because it is the ability of a state to rule its own nation, when a state can control what happens within their borders then they are sovereign. There is internal and external sovereignty. External sovereignty refers to the recognition by all governments that they each have an equal amount of internalsovereignty, which is the highest authority within one’s own territory. Interconnectedness implies a relationship or connection between different elements or entities, where the actions or changes in one have an impact on theothers. Interdependence , networks and holism are some key factors to this.

Even though there are many advantages to globalization, some people see it as a danger for a variety of reasons.Transnational challenges are one example for this. Transnational challenges are, Issues and difficulties referred to as transnational challenges are those that transcend national boundaries and necessitate concerted international orglobal efforts and solutions.

These difficulties are frequently brought about by the world’s interconnectedness and the commonality of someproblems. Issues like climate change and pandemics require collaborative solutions, starting a shift from absolute sovereignty to collaborative responsibilities in solving global issues. Linking it to a real life problem climate changecan be taken as an example.

Climate change continues to be a persistent problem, and Americans across are starting to notice its effects—mostnotably in the western region of the country, where record heat waves have recently occurred.

It’s vital to remember that there are arguments in favor of global connection that emphasize its advantages, even though globalization is sometimes attacked for its possible drawbacks. Some examples for these drawbacks are economic growth and prosperity, cultural exchange, cultural preservation etc. Cultural preservation is one of the examples. The strategies and initiatives used to protect and preserve a community, region, or country’s cultural history are referred to as cultural preservation. This includes safeguarding the material and immaterial components of a culture’s identity, such as rituals, artifacts, traditions, customs, languages, and historical locations. Maintaining diversity, fostering understanding, and guaranteeing that future generations can access the richness of their cultural history are all made possible by cultural preservation. Documentation and archives, language preservation, community involvement…etc, can be examples. As a real life example we can give a rural revitalization drama festival in China. It takes place in China’s Shixia Village and features traditional Chinese opera. Even though Shixia was a poor village in 2010, the festival’s increased tourism has led to an increase in jobs. It has prompted people to develop enterprises in the hamlet, brought back residents who had previously departed, and increased prospects for supplementary income. In addition, the festival brought attention to other local cultural gems, which encouragedeven more tourist and preservation initiatives. They had to subcontract production to other locations until 2019 whenthey were able to acquire the technology required to process their own millet crops.

Another example is the MNCs as a threat. Multinational corporations (MNCs) and state sovereignty have a difficult and tense relationship. MNCs contribute significantly to the global economy, job creation, and technological advancement, yet concerns exist regarding their potential impact on state sovereignty. Policy influence is one of the examples. MNCs tend to influence the domestic policies, usually it is for their benefit.creating worries about states’capacity to take independent action against corporate interests. Lobbying and advocacy, campaign financing threatof capital flight can be some examples to this. For example Microsoft committed 500 million dollars to tackle affordable house price crisis in the Puget sound region. This is an example of MNCs helping out the states.

However MNCs dont always help state sovereignty. States still can take control of the MNCs so they are not always capable of doing stuff on their own. Global cooperation can be a good example for this. Frameworks for international cooperation are necessary to address issues with multinational corporations (MNCs) and to show how adaptable state sovereignty can be in a world that is becoming more interconnected. Harmonizing regulations, multilateral trade agreements, and sharing best practices can be some examples. Due to the 2008 financial crisis, large banks and multinational corporations (MNCs) exposed their vulnerability by relying on public bailouts. This can be a good example of MNCs still relying on the states after all and it is not always beneficial for the states.

Human rights vs sovereignty is a controversial topic as well. The strain starts from the possible confrontation between a state’s claim to sovereignty and the need of the international community to defend and increase human rights. Global interconnectedness is one of the examples we can give. Global interconnection has changed theunderstanding of human rights, with a prominence on the fundamentals of international engagement to redress abuses that cross national boundaries. For example we can give humanitarian invention in the Ivory Coast.

The universal declaration of human rights is not legally unbreakable. If a state wants to break that they can. Their culture can shape a lot as well. For example in Saudi Arabia they force everyone to wear hijabs but they do that by rejecting a constitution. This can be an example for cultural sensitivity. Cultural sensitivity plays a huge role inaddressing human rights in sovereign states. Typical human rights are universally acknowledged, but how they apply these rights has to be taken into consideration and respect cultural settings. The human rights situation inAfghanistan can be a real life example for this topic.

In conclusion , the topic of sovereignty is one of the core topics in global politics. It shapes and helps the relationships between nations in a globally interconnected society. The conflict between solving transnational challenges and maintaining national sovereignty is one of the aspects of international relations. While economicexpansion and cross-cultural exchange raises issues , globalization also raises issues such as climate change and the power of multinational corporations, which raise concerns about how to balance national sovereignty and international cooperation. The conflict between sovereignty and human rights is another crucial issue in this topicand must be balanced. Cultural sensitivity is an essential thing in achieving this balance.

While addressing these concerns ,it is really important to recognise the role of cooperation ,international frameworks and cross-cultural understanding in promoting a society in which shared responsibility for the common good of humanity coexists with sovereignty. In the twenty-first century,maintaining the balance in this complex web of interdependence will be critical to the peaceful and sustainablecoexistence of states.
